Revolut hits USD 115 billion valuation, surpassing Barclays and Societe Generale

While Barclays has a valuation of almost USD 95 billion, Revolut sits far behind industry giant HSBC, valued at nearly USD 350 billion

British fintech giant Revolut has reached a valuation of USD 115 billion following a secondary share sale, registering a jump of more than 50% in value compared to the USD 75 billion valuation achieved in September 2025.

As per the reports, Revolut’s secondary share sale is underway. The sale will value each share of the British finance app at USD 2,017, giving the digital-first bank a USD 115 billion valuation.

The latest valuation of USD 115 billion also makes the 11-year-old business worth more than many publicly listed banks, including Barclays and France’s Societe ‌Generale. While Barclays has a valuation of almost USD 95 billion, Revolut sits far behind industry giant HSBC, valued at almost USD 350 billion.

Revolut has set a target of selling at least USD 750 million worth of shares in a secondary sale that will allow the fintech giant’s employees and early investors to sell shares in private companies before a public listing.

“We can confirm that a secondary share sale process is underway. As is standard, we won’t comment on the details while the process is ongoing, and we’ll provide an update once it has completed,” the venture said.

Established in 2015, Revolut has millions of customers across more than 40 countries. It has consolidated its position as the fintech sector’s poster boy by rolling out financial services via smartphones, that go way beyond traditional functions like currency exchanges and money transfers.

The venture also obtained a full UK banking licence from regulators in March 2026, which is now helping the business to compete with established retail lenders in its home market. It has also secured similar authorization in the European Union (EU). It is now awaiting an American banking license.

In the United States, Revolut plans to combine traditional banking products with stablecoins, multi-currency accounts, stock trading, and crypto services after securing regulatory approval. The company filed its charter application with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency in March this year.

As per the CEO, Nikolay (Nik) Storonsky, Revolut does not plan to go for market listing before 2028. Reports have also linked the company to a possible future public valuation as high as USD 200 billion.

Crypto has remained Revolut’s main expansion area. The digital-only bank now lets customers trade digital assets through its main app, apart from operating Revolut X, a separate platform built for crypto trading.

While the venture secured a MiCA license in Cyprus in October 2025, that provided it a route to offer regulated crypto services across European markets, it has continued adjusting its product offering to meet MiCA requirements as the European framework moves into full enforcement.

And last but not least, Revolut has secured an in-principle approval from Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) to provide virtual asset services in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The planned offering includes crypto trading and services through the main Revolut app and Revolut X.
